Southend Kitesurfing has made it through to the finals of the Essex Countywide business awards. I am very pleased with this achievement as making it to the last 9 in the category of "Best Small Business" from the whole of Essex is a massive boost for the re branding.

Having been awarded "Highly Commended in Leisure and Tourism" in 2011, I am really looking forward to this years event which is being held at the Cliffs Pavilion on 10th May 2013.

Southend Kitesurfing was officially opened today by the Mayor of Southend, Cllr Sally Carr.

Despite the unusually bleak weather for April, The Mayor joined by portfolio holder Derek Jarvis, local council officers, Lynn Jones and Lisa Ferne and business owner Peter Grubb enjoyed an afternoon of discussion with Steve on the stirling work done to re brand the business and establish a focal point for the sport.

At the peak the building was fit to burst as we were joined by many of Steves friends all keen to see the new equipment from North kiteboarding and take advantage of the excellent refreshments kindly provided by Sara from Sara's Tea Gardens of old Leigh. More pics here

Kitesports worldwide has once again been entered into the Southend business awards and I am pleased to say we have reached the finals in both the "Leisure and Tourism" and "Small Business of the year" categories.

Surfpoint based on the Hel peninsula in Poland was host to the 2012 May IKO Instructor Traing Course.

The intensive weeks training was blessed with warm and breezy conditions allowing the candidates to express their skills and knowledge to the full.

Hel peninsula is an excellent place to learn due to the extensive area of shallow water. See the photos here
