Southend Kitesurfing has again made it to the finals of the Southend business awards.
I am pleased to say we are a finalist in both the "Leisure and Tourism" and "Small Business of the year" categories. Having won "Leisure and Tourism" in 2013, We are really looking forward to this years event which is being held at the Cliffs Pavilion on 17th October 2014
Surfdome, one of our partner organisations will be opening its first ever retail pop-up shop at London's iconic Silicon Roundabout this summer.
For 7 weeks there will be a multitude of exciting events and activities filling the tunnels of Old Street Underground Station. Check out their site to find out more.
Southend Mencap which offers support for children and adults with learning difficulties brought a group of around 20 of its members along to try their hand at Powerkiting.
Blessed with a beautiful sunny day and a nice breeze all those attending regardless of their level were able to participate under our careful guidance.
Smiles and hugs were abundant as the group progressed onto larger and more exciting kites.
Several of the group showed excellent skills and by the end of the session were flying 4 line kites on their own.
Chairman Chris Hebden and Treasurer Greg Tredwell (who initiated the session) were also keen to have a go and were pleasantly surprised at how much fun Powerkiting is.

I am pleased to say we a finalist in both the "Leisure and Tourism" and "Small Business of the year" categories. Having been awarded "Highly Commended in Leisure and Tourism" in 2011, We are really looking forward to this years event which is being held at the Cliffs Pavilion on 18th October 2013
We will be holding a North Kites demo day on Sunday 13th October 2013. The demo will run weather permitting from 11am. All the latest kites will be here, including the all new "Dice" along with a range of twin tips and the incredible North Race board.
